Full description
Full-bodied, complex and naturally sweet, this dark oolong reveals its character gradually. Tightly rolled olive-green leaves with golden highlights yield a clear infusion ranging from gold to orange, with an expressive aroma. The tea is grown in the Huangshan area of Anhui province, China, at an altitude of 800–900 metres. The leaves are harvested in spring, from March to May. GABA owes its distinctive character to a technically demanding processing stage in an oxygen-free environment, which increases the tea leaves’ content of GABA, or gamma-aminobutyric acid. This additional step requires specialised equipment and precise control of processing conditions. Its mountain origin, spring harvest and distinctive production method shape the character of this tea: a full flavour, natural sweetness and a rich aroma. GABA is suited to an unhurried tea session, when you want to savour each sip and discover how the tea unfolds.
